Mason Gavilan

Senior Financial Analyst

Mason Gavilan is a Senior Financial Analyst at MACCO, based in New York. He brings experience from both sides of the Chapter 11 process, from debtor-side financial advisory to claims and case administration. Mason specializes in 13-week cash flow forecasting, variance reporting, Monthly Operating Reports, and preparation of Statements of Financial Affairs and Schedules of Assets and Liabilities.

Mason has led debtor engagements across Chapter 11, Chapter 7, and Subchapter V cases, receiverships, and wind-downs. He has successfully built liquidity models directly from bank data when the accounting system does not tell the full story, and he works with management to discover the source of the operational issues. He has rebuilt client books, established accounting protocols, and led teams responsible for monthly accounting and operating reports. Mason excels at developing and implementing efficient and cost-effective process and workflow improvement protocols.

Mason has helped build a dedicated SOFAs and Schedules team from the ground up and supported nationally recognized Chapter 11 cases. His experience includes first-day preparation, creditor matrix builds, noticing coordination and execution, claim objections, original and amended SOFAs and Schedules, and complex redaction reviews.

Prior to joining MACCO, Mason was a Senior Associate in the turnaround and restructuring practice of an accounting and advisory firm. Before that, he was a Restructuring Consultant at a global restructuring administration firm. He holds an MS in Finance from Sacred Heart University, where he received the Gold Medal of Excellence. He is an active member of the Turnaround Management Association, Long Island Division, and a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute.
