Leanna Haakons, Director of Business Development

Leanna Haakons is MACCO’s nationwide Director of Business Development based in the Los Angeles, CA office. She is an expert in institutional investments, with in-depth knowledge of private markets, investor relations, international marketing, and global risk management.

Her international business development and financial marketing experience extends to the U.S., Canada, and Europe. She is a Harvard educated journalist and a regular moderator, host and panelist at high-profile global economic conferences. Leanna is frequently interviewed in the media as a financial marketing, investing, and literacy expert.

During her career, Leanna has worked in capital markets, gaining securities licensing and expertise throughout various fields of finance and investments. She has helped facilitate transactions alongside multi-billion-dollar funds, private and public companies, and a top-tier network of family offices and sovereign wealth funds.

Prior to MACCO, Leanna gained notoriety as a bestselling author, public speaker and media host. She has appeared on national networks including CNBC, Bloomberg, Yahoo Finance, NBC, and ABC and other media podcasts across the world. Leanna received her Bachelor of Commerce with honors from Ryerson University in Toronto and has achieved multiple investment management certifications (IMC and CIPCM). She is a member of the Aspen Institute’s Society of Fellows.
